Marine Corps League

The Marine Corps League, Detachment 750 - Charlotte, NC is a non-profit, (501 (c) (4) ) charitable organization comprised of volunteers who are inactive United States Marines – there are no paid positions. The primary mission is to help those in need in the Greater Charlotte area. All funds are raised from corporate and individual donations plus one major annual fund raiser. All proceeds from donations and the fund raiser are used to support various charities including: Wounded Marines, Marines Helping Marines, Back Door Boutique, Marine Corps Disaster Relief Unit (DRU), Young Marines and Toys for Tots.

Wounded Marines

The USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment provides and facilitates assistance to wounded, ill and injured Marines, sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members in order to assist them as they return to duty or transition to civilian life.

The mission of the Marine Corps Disaster Relief Unit is to quickly deploy personnel, food service equipment, and food to disaster sites which are chosen by a qualified disaster relief organization.

Young Marine Program

The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Toys For Tots

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

TOYS FOR TOTS FINAL COUNT

MCL Members: From Jerry Smitherman – I hope that I have all Marines final count on the total count of toys collected

in our Toys For Tots program. We did a good job this year in our collection of toys for the children of Charlotte. I have a grand total of 2,614 toys collected in 2016. I thank ALL Marines on a job WELL DONE. Last  year we collected 3,194 toys. We are down this year due to the Wells Fargo collection of 880 toys. Again, THANK YOU FOR A JOB WELL DONE.
