Marine Corps League

The Marine Corps League, Detachment 750 - Charlotte, NC is a non-profit, (501 (c) (4) ) charitable organization comprised of volunteers who are inactive United States Marines – there are no paid positions. The primary mission is to help those in need in the Greater Charlotte area. All funds are raised from corporate and individual donations plus one major annual fund raiser. All proceeds from donations and the fund raiser are used to support various charities including: Wounded Marines, Marines Helping Marines, Back Door Boutique, Marine Corps Disaster Relief Unit (DRU), Young Marines and Toys for Tots.

Wounded Marines

The USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment provides and facilitates assistance to wounded, ill and injured Marines, sailors attached to or in support of Marine units, and their family members in order to assist them as they return to duty or transition to civilian life.

The mission of the Marine Corps Disaster Relief Unit is to quickly deploy personnel, food service equipment, and food to disaster sites which are chosen by a qualified disaster relief organization.

The Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Toys For Tots

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

Gun raffle Oct 29-30th – need volunteers

Members: (From Hal) Marines –  Dave Ward will be out of town this weekend OCT 29- 30 visting his new grandchild in WVA, I also will be out of town for a family funeral in CT. Since Iam driving will not be back this weekend. John Craig has voltunteerd to run the gun show at the Cabarrus Arena this weekend and will need help for both days Sat 29 and Sun 30. Shifts on Sat will be 0900-1300 and 1300 -1700 and Sun from 1000-1230 and 1230-1500. If possible 2 volunteers per shift. Please contact John at 704 241 3876. The gun raffle has sold 82% or 2952 of the 3600 tickets. With every ones help we should sell all tickets by the Dec 20 drawing date.
